Mangaluru: Tulu movie 'Chandi Kori' hits theatres across DK, Udupi

Mangaluru, Sep 25: Much-awaited Tulu movie 'Chandi Kori' produced by Sharmila Kapikad and Sachin Sunder under the banner 'Bolli Movies' was released on Friday September 25 in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.

District incharge minister of Dakshina Kannada Ramanath Rai inaugurated the formal ceremony at Suchithra theatre here.

Addressing the gathering, Rai said, "Tulu movie 'Chandi Kori' has hit the silver screen because of the support of the people of Mangaluru to Tulu films. Devadas Kapikad is a successful actor and I congratulate him and wish all success for the film."

Speaking to media, Devdas Kapikad said, "This film is full of entertainment. 'Chandi Kori' is 2.20 hours long with four songs. It will also be released in the Gulf countries. I am confident that the people of Dakshina Kannada will enjoy the film. The movie has been released in 11 theaters across Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. It has a good social message about respecting parents."

Arjun Kapikad, lead actor in 'Chandi Kori' film said, "All the cast and crew membes have worked really hard. Everybody must watch this film and bless us for the success of the movie and support the Tulu industry."

For the first time, Devdas Kapikad has directed and lent his voice to a song in this movie. Kapikad's son Arjun Kapikad has also sang one song for the film. Arjun Kapikad, Karishma Amin will be seen in lead roles. Naveen D Padil, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Aravind Bolar, Satish Bandale, Gopinath Bhat, Chethan Rai Maani, Timmappa Kulal, Suresh Kulal, Umesh Mijar, Panduranga, Richard Pinto, Raghavendra Karanth, Master Krathin, Sharmila Kapikad, Manisha, Sarojini Shetty, Sujatha, Sumithra Rai, Lavanya Bangera, Naresh, Shashi, Sunil and others have acted in this film.

Cinematography is done by P L Ravi, editing by Sujith Nayak, choreography by Akul and stunts by Mass Maadha. Story, lyrics and direction are by Devdas Kapikad, Manikanth Kadri has composed music for the film .

Sharmila Kapikad, Sachin Sunder, Arjun Kapikad, Karishma Ameen, P L Ravi, president of Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Union Jagannath Shetty Bala, Mohandas Kamath of Tulu Koota, Kuwait and others were also present on this occaison.
