Beltangady: Stop investigation into Sowjanya case, let CBI handle - Vasanth Bangera

Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady

Beltangady, Oct 25: The government should stop investigation into the brutal rape and murder of Sowjanya, as even after handing over the case to the CoD, no sufficient progress has been made, said MLA K Vasanth Bangera.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday October 24 at Dharmasthala, he said the previous BJP government and the then Beltangady SI Yogish Kumar are responsible for the sloppy investigation. There was no pressure on the SI from anyone, but he has brought bad name to Dharmasthala by not conducting detailed investigation, he said.

As the investigation of Sowjanya’s case is not being done effectively, the best solution is to hand over the case to the CBI, he said, adding that he would speak to the chief minister on Friday October 25 about it and also send him a formal letter. "Only CBI probe can bring out the truth and put all speculations to rest," he added.

"Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade too has called for CBI probe into the case several times. As MLA of this constituency, I am not favouring anyone, and my only aim is to ensure that justice is done. I will hold talks with all the organizations that are fighting for the cause. I will fulfil my responsibility as MLA," he assured.

Further, he said the residents of Dharmasthala have submitted a memorandum to him urging for CBI probe. "They have also assured their support and cooperation during the course of the investigation. However, it is wrong to make allegations on Dharmadhikari or the Kshetra without evidence," he said.

When state machinery is there to protect the people. It was not easy to hand over the case to CBI. Certain procedure has to be followed. There are corrupt officers are in CBI also. Some time CBI refuses to take the case due to the shortage of man power. But if higher judiciary orders to take the case then CBI must act on it. Some time CBI investigations go wrong if it is not monitored by the sitting judge of higher judiciary.

MLA Sunil Kumar,C.T.Ravi and others join hands with him and demand for CBI inquiry instead of wasting time on COD or CID inquiry?

Belthangady MLA has done his duty. Now it is the turn of Karkala MLA.
He should pressurize police to release innocent Santhosh Rao on Bail immediately. Santhosh Rao is originally from Kukkandoor which falls under Karkala constituency, so it is the moral responsibility of Karkala MLA to get Justice to innocent Santhosh Rao whom Police have framed into Saujanya case just to save real culprits.

Karnataka CID/CCB is worst than Civil Police which they have proved by bungling in Belikeri Iron Ore theft case. So, Vasant Bangera has done right thing by demanding CBI investigation. When Karnataka Ruling party MLA himself is demanding CBI inquiry then it is confirmed that he too has no faith in Karnataka CID/CCB. CID should quit fast and make way for CBI.

Good morning Vasanjii...I think belthangady MLA was sleeping till now as its more than one year that our sister Sowjanya murdered. Its all political game. During election time he promised that he will handover sowjanya case to OBI but its more than 6 months after his victory but failed to do. So no other option in front of protesters so he has given dummy statement about the case to fix the MLA seat.

Vasant Bangeraji you have really taken very bold step. Next you should try to get Santhosh Rao released from the Clutches of evil Police of Belthangadi. In fact he is impotent and he has no sexual capacity at all. Then how can he rape ?

when it comes to Politics, we comment like enemies. But, when injustice is done to our own people, please, let us be human, let us be united and raise our voice to give justice to the victim, no matter who is the culprit and to which religion and party he belongs to. My heart goes out to poor parents of Sowjanya. Let us put ourselves in their place for a while and think the pain they must be going through. God give them strength to bear the pain and justice to our dear child's soul.

Well said by area MLA. But their own governments home minister K.J.George says it all over as CID did all the proper investigation. Will the Govt listen to the area MLA? Or even the CBI will be pressurized to deliver the same conclusion to case as CID or COD did for this case..? No hope.. Only god can solve this puzzle.
