Mangaluru: Anti-CAA protests - Over 100 boats loaded with protesters reach Adyar Kannur

Daijiworld Media Network – Daijiworld (AM)

Mangaluru, Jan 15: A procession of 100 boats was taken out from Kotepura in Ullal to Adyar Kannur as a part of the anti-CAA protest rally planned by Muslim central committees of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, that is going to take place on Wednesday, January 15.

People were seen in large numbers on two wheelers holding national flags and going towards the venue.

Security has been tightened across Mangaluru and nearby areas ahead of the protests.

Nearly 5,000 police personnel have been deployed across the city to ensure peace.

The heavy deployment of police follows the death of two people in police firing on December 19, after anti-CAA protesters had turned violent. More than 20 police personnel were also injured in the violence following the protests.

How is it religion based discrimination? Please explain.
CAA only gives shelter to those persecuted in the name of religion from neighbouring countries ( It is they who have been suffering due to religion based discrimination) . Why should be any INDIAN citizen of any religion be be worried?
Also every country needs to know who its citizens are and hence the NRC (national register of citizens). Why should anybody who is an Indian citizen, irrespective of his or her religion, have a problem with that? I really do not understand.

We dont have any issues with minorities migrating from neighboring country. Let Govt. take them in. Why Govt. wanted our citizen proof. Isn't it not contradictory or double standard. Why do we need to prove our citizenship.

    Ashok Bhai

Say for instance, some people have lost all their documents due to floods, millions of people live on the streets who do not have an identity. They will automatically become an illegal citizen right? If they are Non muslims, they will automatically be a citizen under CAA. What will then happen to muslims? Can you please clear this point.

The NRC will leave a lot of people stateless because of lack of specified documents (parents birth proof etc.).Also can be used to target certain people by rejecting their documents or whatever.
The CAA can get desirable people back into the fold even if their documents are invalid.See the NRC implementation in Assam and how many genuine people have been considered as not Indian.

I pray for peace. Neither want protest nor disturbance from anyone except my mother land requires peace for everyone. Let's pray for govt officials, politicians, citizens to practice peace. If anyone is illegally staying in India for sure explain to them to leave the country in a legal ways and please practice peace. Donot harras the poor rather help them to prosper. Hope all protestors will practice peace without damaging peace. Lord Jesus help all and bless everyone. You are the prince of peace and a healer. Be the light of this world. Amen

It is when we doubt other communities, this kind of question arises, It is your imagination of muslims from what few people have portrayed. Kindly make sure,
Nation First, Religion First. Mine & yours.
