Dr Jaseem Korankoth, assistant professor and HOD, IMHANS and president of ASFAR (Association for Solution Focused Approaches and Research) was the resource person. The programme started by seeking the blessings of the Almighty, which was conducted by Shreyl a student of II MSc Psychology. A short inaugural was followed by the two days skill training session.

With a vision of providing students with skill training in the domain of mental health, this session intended to provide hands on training on using the techniques of solution focused counseling. Solution focused brief therapy is a strength based approach to psychotherapy based on solution building rather than problem solving. SFBT focuses one’s current circumstances and future hopes. This approach also assumes that people are meaning makers and are ultimately the creators of their own realities.

They witnessed live demonstration of techniques, case discussions, role plays and will also be a part of the supervised practice sessions held in the two days of the training programme. Sharon student of II MSc Clinical Psychology compered the programme and Zainab of II MSc Psychology welcomed the guest and the gathering.
