Bahrain, Jun 16: Former Karnataka deputy chief minister (CM) M P Prakash, along with his wife Rudramba Prakash and three distinguished dignitaries from Karnataka, visited Bahrain Kannada Sangha premises. On this great occasion, president of the Sangha Austin Santhosh, along with other members of the Sangha, received the distinguished visitors.
Prakash was in Behrain for taking part in Saartha Foundation's function to felicitate three noted personalities from Karnataka, viz., Shivananda Kalava, Nagendra Muthmurdu and Ramesh Bhandary, who were chosen for the honour, taking into account their skills, talents, creativity, expertise, flair and inventive qualities.
The three were presented with Rs 10,000 in cash, memento and a certificate each.
Prakash was very much impressed with the initiatives and activities undertaken by Bahrain Kannada Sangha and also about the unity being exhibited by the Kannadigas settled in Bahrain. He assured his wholehearted support to the Sangha. On his visit to the library of the Sangha, he expressed his surprise at finding Kannada newspapers and magazines along with a large number of Kannada novels.
He conveyed his best wishes to the committee of Bahrain Kannada Sangha and promised them that he would extend all possible assistance to the Sangha.
After visiting the Sangha, the delegation left for Doha Qatar.
