Kundapur, Jul 4: In a tragic incident, a dentist hailing from Gujjadi in the taluk, died of an accidental fall into a well on Sunday.

Dr Pradeep Ganiga, son of Devadas Ganiga, living near the Mahankali temple at Gujjadi under Gangolli police station limits, was trying to draw water from the well. The rope is said to have got entangled in the pulley. Trying to set it right, he climbed over the enclosure of the well but slipped over the mouldy green growth on it and fell into the well.

People around came to his rescue, pulled him over and rushed him to the hospital. But he was declared dead upon arrival.

Dr Ganiga, unmarried, was working in Manipal and was to soon go abroad for higher education.
