Mangalore, Jul 2: The inaugural function of the diamond jubilee celebrations concluded in the Milagres Jubilee Hall on Sunday afternoon.

Chief minister H D Kumaraswamy could not make it to the occasion. Bishop Aloysius D'Souza, union minister Oscar Fernandes, state minister B Nagaraj Shetty, MLA Yogish Bhat, Administrative Reforms Commission chairman and former CM Veerappa Moily, MLA Abhayachandra Jain, former MP Vinayakumar Sorake, director Fr Elias D'Souza, advocate Ivan D'Souza, NRI entrepreneur Leo Rodrigues, convener Roshan Madtha, ICYM president Arun Ajekar, secretary Mareeta D'Souza , among others, were on the dais.

The following were elected new office-bearers for the next term at the annual general meeting.

President: Jaison Suares, Taccode
Vice presidents: Kevin D'Souza, Bajpe and Mareeta D'Souza, Siddakatte
Secretary: Arun Lobo, Nirkan
Joint secretary: Kevin Misquith, Suratkal
Treasurer: Ashwin Pereira, Gantalkatte
Auditor: Jossie Pinto, Bantwal
Editor, Amcho Yuvak: Melwyn Pernal

The following units were awarded cups for excellence:

Very Best youth unit: Bantwal

Best units: (in order of points earned) Kinnigoli, Fermai, Kokkada, Allipade and Nirkan

Ideal youth units: (in order of points earned)  Bendur, Anegudde, Agrar, Gantalkatte, Uppinangady, Neermarga, Permannur, Kelarai, Arva and Manjeshwar

Annual report was presented by outgoing secretary Mareeta D'Souza. Jude Noronha, Raymond D'Cunha Taccode and Santu Omzoor compered the function. Ivan D'Souza proposed the vote of thanks after the stage function.
