Karachi, Jun 12: India under-19 cricket team will play two four-dayers and three one-day matches in Pakistan later this year, a spokesman of the Pakistan Cricket Board said.

"This will be a part of our regular exchange of tours between the two countries at junior level. We have received confirmation from the Indian cricket board," the spokesman said.

The Indian teenagers will visit Pakistan in September and return early October. Although the venues and dates are yet to be finalised, the matches are expected to be held in smaller centres like Sialkot, Gujranwala, Sheikhupura as part of the Pakistan Cricket Board's objective to promote cricket in remote areas.

"The Pakistan under-19 cricket team will tour India next year for similar number of games. The objective is to provide the teenagers a feel of international pressure and the pressure of representing country," the spokesman added.

The spokesman added that the PCB has written to the Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU) of its inability to host their team this September.

"This year, it is not feasible for us to host them because of financial reasons," the spokesman said.

He, however, said there was no progress so far on the proposed one-day series in Abu Dhabi in September.

"There is a split within the organisation on whether Pakistan should play in Abu Dhabi this September. Besides, we haven't received any concrete proposal or invitation from the organisers," the spokesman said.
