Mangaluru, Oct 11: Chief Minister D K Shivakumar’s scheduled visit to Karnataka’s coastal region on Monday, October 12, has been cancelled at the last minute due to unavoidable circumstances.

B S Sridhar, officer on special duty (OSD) to the chief minister, announced the cancellation in a press release, citing unavoidable circumstances without specifying further details.

As per the original itinerary, Shivakumar was scheduled to visit the Uchila Sri Mahalakshmi Temple in Udupi at 3 pm on October 12 to inaugurate the women’s Dasara celebrations.

Later in the day, at 6.30 pm, he was due to inaugurate the Mangaluru Dasara festival.

With the cancellation of the coastal tour, the chief minister will not attend either of the two scheduled events. The official statement did not provide any specific reason for the last-minute change beyond citing unavoidable circumstances.
