Mangaluru, Oct 10: Following complaints that fish transport vehicles were spilling dirty water onto city roads, causing inconvenience and posing safety risks to the public and motorists, Mangaluru City police launched a major enforcement drive on Saturday October 10.

Acting on the strict directions of the Mangaluru City police commissioner, police teams conducted operations at various locations across the city from the early hours of the day.

During the drive, several fish transport vehicles found violating the rules were fined. The action aims to address the nuisance caused by wastewater leaking from fish-laden vehicles and ensure safer and cleaner roads for the public.

The crackdown comes amid complaints from road users about the unhygienic conditions and potential hazards caused by wastewater spilling onto city roads.
