Mangaluru: Three Jesuit deacons ordained priests at Fatima Retreat House

Mangaluru, Oct 2: Three Jesuit deacons of the Karnataka Jesuit Province were ordained priests by Dr Leslie Clifford D’Souza, bishop of Udupi, on Friday, October 2, at the Divine Mercy Church of Fatima Retreat House, Mangaluru.

The newly ordained priests are Fr Larren Joy Menezes SJ, Fr Prajwal Marvin Apose SJ and Fr Roshan Kelvine Goveas SJ (Bombay Province). The ordination ceremony was a moment of thanksgiving to Almighty God and the People of God for the vocation and priestly ministry of the three newly ordained priests.

The celebration was held under the theme, ‘Hearts that Love, Hands that Serve’, highlighting the call to a life of loving service.

The provincial of the Karnataka Jesuit Province, Fr Dionysius Vaz SJ, expressed his gratitude to Bishop Leslie Clifford D’Souza and to all the priests, religious, family members, friends and well-wishers who joined the celebration and supported the newly ordained priests on their journey towards priesthood.

After the Mass, the new priests and their parents were felicitated. Fr Marvin Apose SJ spoke on behalf of the new priests and thanked all those who had, at different stages of their lives, accompanied them on their journey towards priesthood.

Fr Roydon Misquith SJ and Sch Melvyn Govius SJ prepared the deacons for the ordination ceremony with the beautiful liturgy. Fr Antony Pais was the master of ceremonies at the ordination Mass.
