Goa first alliance open to all opposition parties, says Vijai Sardesai

Margao, Oct 1: Goa Forward Party chief Vijai Sardesai on Wednesday said the Goa First Alliance remains open to other opposition parties ahead of the 2027 Goa Legislative Assembly elections. The alliance between the Goa Forward Party and the Aam Aadmi Party was formally announced earlier this month.

Sardesai said it was the responsibility of all opposition parties to understand what kind of alliance people in Goa are seeking for the upcoming elections.

He said the Goa First Alliance provides a platform for parties opposed to the BJP to come together and that new parties or groups could join the alliance.

“The Goa First Alliance is still there. The platform offers a platform for others to join. New people can come on board,” he told the media.

Sardesai said he did not want to comment further on the alliance during Pitru Paksha.

His remarks come amid discussions among opposition parties in Goa over the possibility of a broader alliance ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections.
