Calangute, Sep 28: A resident of Rohtak, Haryana, has allegedly been cheated of Rs 88,000 in Candolim after being offered a 10-year holiday package with 42 days of complimentary stays at luxury hotels worldwide.
According to a complaint filed by Piyush Sachdeva, he was approached on December 1, 2024, by five persons claiming to be employees of OsDia De Festa Vacations Pvt Ltd at Hotel Whispering Palms Beach Resort in Candolim.
During discussions, Sachdeva was allegedly offered 42 days of accommodation over a 10-year period at three-star and four-star resorts. He subsequently paid Rs 88,000 through his credit card.
However, Sachdeva alleged that the promised services were never provided and that the amount paid was also not refunded.
The accused have been identified as Zikriya Shaikh alias Sunny, Abdul Rahim Mahamad Yusuf Shaikh, Haider, Ankita and Ashish Singh Rajput.
Calangute police have issued notices to the accused, directing them to appear for inquiry. Further investigation is under way.
