Mangaluru, Sep 26: Students of Presidency School have brought pride to the institution by delivering an outstanding performance at the NCAP model making competition, organised by NITTE (Deemed to be University), Deralakatte, Mangaluru.
The competition provided an engaging platform for young minds to showcase their creativity, innovation, scientific temperament, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Demonstrating exceptional enthusiasm and originality, the students of Presidency School emerged winners in both the senior and junior categories and also secured a consolation prize.
In the senior category, the team comprising Advith S Kumar and Chirag A of grade 9A, and Ayman Sheik and Savion D’Souza of grade 9B, secured first place.
The school continued its winning streak in the junior category, where Shaivi Bhandary and Leisha Sandeep Kotian of grade 7A, along with Fathima Haniya Ahmed of grade 7B and Angela Rebello of grade 7A, secured first place.
Adding another achievement to the school’s tally, Leon Liju, Rafa Ahmed Hasan, Razan Mahmood Inthiyaz and Suteertha Hebbar, all from grade 7B, won the consolation prize.
The impressive results reflect the students’ ability to transform ideas into innovative models through research, experimentation, collaboration and creative thinking. Such platforms enable students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications while developing confidence and essential 21st-century skills.
Speaking on the achievement, Shaila Saldanha, principal, Presidency School, Mangaluru, congratulated the students and their mentors, stating, “This achievement is a wonderful reflection of our students’ curiosity, creativity and determination to learn beyond the classroom. Competitions of this nature encourage children to question, explore, experiment and create. We are immensely proud of the way our students have worked together and represented the school with such confidence and commitment. Their success inspires us to continue nurturing young innovators who can think independently and contribute meaningfully to society.”
The school also acknowledged the valuable guidance and encouragement extended by the teachers and mentors who supported the students in conceptualising and developing their models.
