Karkala, Sep 24: Students of Christ King Educational Institution emerged overall champions in the primary school girls’ category at the Karkala zonal-level athletics meet organised by the department of Public Instruction at the Karkala Taluk Stadium.

Class 7 student Trishma secured first place in the 200m and 400m events and was declared the individual champion in the girls’ category. Class 7 student Pranvi won first place in the 100m and secured second place in the 200m, while Aashi Shetty of class 7 bagged first place in the 600m event.

In the girls’ category, class 8 student Ashel secured third place in the 80m hurdles. Class 7 student Srushti won first place in shot put and third place in discus throw.

The Christ King girls’ relay team comprising Trishma, Pranvi, Aashi Shetty and Ashel secured first place.

In the boys’ relay, Prasthuth, Manas, Dhishan and Afraz secured second place. Class 8 student Shifan won third place in shot put, while Vedanth secured third place in discus throw.

Class 8 student Prasthuth secured second place in high jump and second place in the 80m hurdles. He, along with the other eligible winners, has qualified for the Taluk-level athletics meet.

The students’ achievement brought the overall championship and aggregate prize to Christ King Educational Institution, bringing pride to the institution.
