Kundapur, Sep 18: The mega job fair ‘Job Express 2K26’, organised at Moodlakatte by IMJ Educational Institutions in association with the government of Karnataka, Microsoft, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub and 1M1B, received an overwhelming response from job aspirants.
The event featured participation from more than 30 reputed companies, offering thousands of employment opportunities to graduates and final-year students.
Dr Samuel Augustus Norton Stanley, architect at IBM India Cloud Labs, who inaugurated the event, highlighted the growing demand for green skills and knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the present technology-driven era. He urged young job aspirants to embrace continuous learning and make effective use of emerging career opportunities.
Reema Joseph, head and senior mentor, Green Skills & Applied AI for Climate Action, who was the guest of honour, said that students from rural areas possess immense talent and that the job fair provides them with a platform to connect with the global employment market. She added that the organisation is committed to supporting students in building a bright future and accessing better career opportunities.
Dr S N Bhat, director of academics, delivered the introductory remarks and welcomed the dignitaries and gathering.
Following the inauguration, direct interviews and recruitment processes were conducted by the participating companies. More than 30 prominent companies offered a wide range of employment opportunities to graduates and final-year students.
MITK principal Dr Ramakrishna Hegde and IMJ ISC principal Dr Pratibha Patel were present on the dais. Representatives and heads of various companies, teaching and non-teaching staff, and thousands of job aspirants attended the event.
IMJ placement dean Amruthamala presented the report. Student welfare coordinator Sukshma Adiga and Prof Farana Imran introduced the guests. Placement dean Akshath Nayak proposed the vote of thanks, while English professor Rajeshwari compered the programme.
