Beltangady, Sep 12: A nearly 12-foot-long king cobra was rescued from the garden of Hitesh, a resident of Kading in Tenkakarandur village, after it was found in the process of swallowing a python. With the assistance of snake rescuers, the king cobra was safely rescued and later released into the forest.
The incident came to light on Friday evening, September 11, when the family spotted the giant king cobra in their garden. They informed Snake Ashok, a snake rescuer from Layila, who immediately arrived at the spot.
After inspecting the situation, he initiated the rescue operation, taking necessary precautions to ensure there was no danger to anyone.
During the rescue, the king cobra regurgitated the python it had swallowed. The snake was subsequently captured safely, transported to a forest area and released into its natural habitat.
