Mangaluru, Sep 4: Over 50 passengers had a miraculous escape after an express bus plying from Karkala to Mangaluru lost control and overturned into a roadside drain on National Highway 66 near MCF in Panambur on Friday, September 4 morning.
Only one passenger, identified as Aditya, a resident of Belman, sustained minor injuries in the mishap. The rest of the 50-plus passengers on board managed to escape unhurt without any danger to their lives, sources reported.
Upon receiving information, the Mangaluru North traffic police rushed to the spot. With the assistance of the general public, the police personnel helped safely rescue the passengers trapped inside the overturned bus.
The traffic police officials informed that no formal case has been registered in connection with the incident so far.
