Ahmedabad, Sep 3: Veteran Gujarati musician and composer Gaurang Vyas died in Ahmedabad late Wednesday night, leaving the Gujarati music and film fraternity mourning his demise.

News of his death prompted tributes from artists, singers, producers and music lovers, who remembered his contribution to Gujarat’s rich musical and cultural tradition.

Vyas was the son of renowned Gujarati musician and composer Avinash Vyas, who made significant contributions to Gujarati films and music. Following in his father’s footsteps, Gaurang Vyas continued the family’s musical legacy while establishing his own identity in the Gujarati music industry.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over Vyas’s death in a post on X. He recalled the musician’s contribution to Gujarati music and said he had carried forward the rich musical tradition of his father while carving out a distinctive place for himself.
