Port of Spain, Sep 1: Queen’s Park Cricket Club has renamed a stand at the historic Queen’s Park Oval after Trinidad and Tobago cricket stars Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo and Sunil Narine.
The naming ceremony was held on August 31 as Trinidad and Tobago celebrated its 64th Independence Day. The stand, previously known as the Trini Posse Stand, will now carry the names of the three cricketers who have established themselves as major figures in international and franchise T20 cricket.
The decision permanently associates Pollard, Bravo and Narine with one of Trinidad and Tobago’s most iconic cricket venues. Queen’s Park Oval already has facilities named after several legendary cricketers from the country, including Brian Lara, Deryck Murray, Jeffrey Stollmeyer, Learie Constantine, Gerry Gomez and Cyril L Duprey.
Former West Indies captain Pollard has played more than 700 T20 matches, scoring over 14,000 runs and taking more than 330 wickets. He has won numerous championships around the world and is currently the leading run-scorer in T20 cricket history, having surpassed England’s Jos Buttler.
Bravo ended his playing career with 631 T20 wickets, the most by any bowler in the format. He also won numerous titles across the world and scored almost 7,000 runs in T20 cricket. Along with Pollard, he ranks among the most successful players in the format in terms of championship victories.
Narine recently became only the second bowler in T20 history to reach 650 wickets. He is also the leading wicket-taker in Caribbean Premier League history.
The three players are currently together in Trinidad and Tobago for the 2026 Caribbean Premier League season. Pollard and Narine are representing Trinbago Knight Riders, while Bravo has returned to the franchise as part of its coaching staff.
The naming ceremony therefore comes at a time when all three remain associated with the same franchise that has played a significant role in their illustrious T20 careers.
For Queen’s Park Cricket Club, the tribute recognises the trio’s remarkable achievements and contribution to Trinidad and Tobago cricket, with their careers taking them from the local game to major T20 competitions across the world.
