New Delhi, Jul 24: In a move aimed at making the ethics appeal process faster and more transparent, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has launched an online Ethics Appeal Portal for Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs).
The portal enables doctors to file first appeals against decisions of State Medical Councils (SMCs) under Section 30(3) and second appeals against decisions of the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) under Section 30(4) of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019.

According to a public notice issued by the EMRB on July 23, all ethics-related appeals under the Act must now be submitted exclusively through the online portal. Doctors can access the facility by clicking the Appeal icon on the NMC website or by logging into their respective NMC accounts.
The Commission said the initiative is intended to ensure transparent and expeditious processing of appeals.
NMC also advised doctors to upload all relevant documents while filing appeals, noting that many applications were previously delayed due to incomplete documentation.
With the launch of the online portal, the earlier system of submitting appeals through physical applications or email has been discontinued with immediate effect.
