France, Spain, England and Argentina seal World Cup semi-final spots

New Jersey, Jul 13: The semi-final line-up for the FIFA World Cup has been confirmed following the completion of the quarter-final stage, with France, Spain, England and Argentina advancing to the last four.

France will face Spain in the first semi-final, scheduled to kick off at 12.30 am IST on Wednesday. France secured their place after defeating Morocco 2-0 in the quarter-finals, while Spain progressed with a 2-1 victory over Belgium.

The second semi-final will see England take on defending champions Argentina at 12.30 am IST on Thursday. England booked their place with a 2-1 extra-time win over Norway, while Argentina defeated Switzerland 3-1 in the quarter-finals.

The winners of the two semi-finals will meet in the FIFA World Cup final at the New York New Jersey Stadium on Jul 20 (IST). The losing teams will compete in the third-place play-off on Jul 19 (IST) at Miami Stadium.
