Mangaluru, Jun 26: A felicitation programme was organised at the Dakshina Kannada District Congress Bhavan to honour P V Mohan on his election as a member of the Karnataka Legislative Council.
Addressing the gathering after receiving the felicitation, P V Mohan spoke about his new responsibility and the realities of present-day politics. He said that soon after he was elected as an MLC, several contractors approached him with proposals and lists of works that could be taken up. Later, groups seeking appointments as personal assistants and requests related to official transfers also came forward.

“Now I understand the challenges faced by legislators and ministers. This is the kind of political environment that exists today. However, this alone cannot help in building the party. I want to work as a bridge between the people and the system by supporting good initiatives,” he said.
P V Mohan assured that he would continue working closely with the public and remain connected with ordinary people. He said he would carry out his responsibilities with dedication and work for the welfare of society.
Former MLA J R Lobo, speaking on the occasion, appreciated the grand felicitation given to P V Mohan and said that he was witnessing such a large-scale honour for an MLC for the first time in his life. He noted that PV Mohan earned the affection of people because of his humble approach and his work among the public as a common person.
The programme was attended by MLC Ivan D’Souza, district Congress president Harish Kumar, Padmaraj, Shashidhar Hegde, Dakshina Kannada district Congress publicity committee president Denis D’Silva, and NRI entrepreneur Alexis Castelino, among others.
The event highlighted the expectations placed on P V Mohan’s new role and his commitment towards public service.
