Moodbidri: Man arrested for selling ganja in Mulki, contraband worth Rs 2 lac seized

Moodbidri, Jun 25: The Mulki police arrested a man on the charge of selling ganja (marijuana) on the railway station road at Kilpadi village under the Mulki police station limits on Thursday, June 25.

The police seized 4 kg of ganja, valued at Rs 2 lac, from the possession of the accused. The arrested individual has been identified as Abbas (50), a resident of Kotekar in Mangaluru.

A case has been registered against the accused at the Mulki police station under Crime No 45/2026, sections 8(c) and 20(b) of the NDPS Act.

The successful raid was a joint operation carried out by a team led by the Panambur assistant commissioner of police (ACP) and the Mulki police station personnel.

    It’s natural psychology that everything looks legal and right as long you are hungry and starving. And if it’s successful and one is satisfied and eventually finds alternate legal resources of employment one will reject it and go back to easy and more money making illegal option.
