Puttur, June 20: In a chilling turn of events, a hotelier couple was found dead on Saturday, June 20, in a rented house at Alankaru Kaje, leaving behind a traumatised toddler.
The deceased have been identified as Dinesh, a native of Bajagoli, and his wife Sangeetha, from Siddakatte, who together ran an eatery in Alankaru town.
Police strongly suspect a grim scenario of murder-suicide, pointing to evidence that the husband allegedly killed his wife before ending his own life by hanging. The couple had been living at home with their two-year-old daughter, Dhruvi.

According to local residents, the family had abruptly shut their hotel business a month ago and departed, only to return to the Alankaru Kaje rented home on June 19, Friday, in the evening.
The horror unfolded the following morning when the house remained locked from the inside. "The two-year-old child was crying relentlessly inside and eventually fell back asleep out of sheer exhaustion," a local source revealed.
Kadaba police sub-inspector Jamburaj and his team rushed to the crime scene and are currently conducting a rigorous forensic investigation to uncover the motive behind the tragedy.
