London, Jun 15: England have announced a revamped playing XI for the second Test against New Zealand, beginning at The Oval on Wednesday, with batter Jordan Cox and fast bowler Sonny Baker set to make their Test debuts.
The duo are among four changes to the side that secured a 115-run victory at Lord's in the opening Test.
England have been forced to reshuffle their squad after captain Ben Stokes and pacer Gus Atkinson were omitted for breaching the team's midnight curfew. Meanwhile, fast bowler Ollie Robinson has been ruled out due to soreness in his right knee after an impressive return to Test cricket, during which he claimed seven wickets at Lord's.

Matt Fisher also returns to the Test setup for the first time in more than four years, while Jofra Archer will lead a four-pronged pace attack as England opt to go without a specialist spinner for the match.
In Stokes' absence, senior batter Joe Root will captain the side.
Wicketkeeper Jamie Smith has retained his place in the playing XI, although Somerset's James Rew has been placed on standby as Smith's partner is expecting the birth of their second child.
Jordan Cox, 23, earned his maiden Test call-up after producing an outstanding double century for Essex in the County Championship.
The batter had previously been in line to make his debut during England's tour of New Zealand in 2024 but was forced to withdraw after suffering a thumb fracture during a practice session.
Sonny Baker, despite having played only 12 first-class matches, has long been regarded as a promising prospect by England's selectors. He has represented the England Lions in Australia and previously made appearances in One-Day Internationals and T20 Internationals.
New Zealand are yet to announce their final playing XI following the sudden retirement of Kane Williamson.
Rachin Ravindra is expected to move into the number four position, while either Henry Nicholls or Will Young could replace Williamson at number three in the batting order.
