Manama, Jun 6: Bahrain on Saturday strongly condemned Iran for launching missile attacks targeting its territory and neighbouring Kuwait, describing the action as a serious violation of the sovereignty of both Gulf nations.
In a statement, Bahrain's Foreign Ministry said the kingdom and Kuwait had intercepted seven missiles fired by Iran.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the renewed attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran against the Kingdom of Bahrain and the sisterly State of Kuwait,” the ministry said.

It added that the attacks constituted a “flagrant violation” of the sovereignty of both countries.
The statement came after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it had targeted “enemy bases in the area” with missiles in response to what it described as a US invasion of Sirik and Qeshm islands.
Earlier, the US military reported that Iran had launched seven ballistic missiles towards Bahrain and Kuwait on Friday, hours after American forces intercepted four Iranian attack drones heading towards the Strait of Hormuz.
According to the United States Central Command, six of the missiles were intercepted, while the seventh failed to reach its intended target.
“There are currently no reports of harm to US personnel, and Iranian claims of damaging US Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain are false,” CENTCOM said.
The command had earlier announced that US forces shot down four Iranian one-way attack drones and subsequently struck Iranian coastal radar installations at Goruk and on Qeshm Island.
The latest developments mark another escalation in the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States despite efforts to maintain a fragile ceasefire.
Earlier this week, Iranian drone attacks reportedly caused significant damage to a passenger terminal at Kuwait's main airport, killing one person, injuring dozens and temporarily disrupting operations.
Despite the renewed hostilities, Donald Trump expressed optimism about the situation.
“The situation with Iran seems to be going quite well,” Trump told reporters on Friday, adding that developments would be resolved either diplomatically or through stronger measures.
Meanwhile, tensions also continued on Israel's northern front despite a ceasefire arrangement with Lebanon.
The Lebanese Armed Forces said several soldiers were killed in an Israeli strike on a military vehicle in southern Lebanon.
“A number of military personnel, including an officer, were martyred in a barbaric Israeli raid targeting a military vehicle on the Khardali–Nabatieh road,” the army said in a statement.
The incidents have raised fresh concerns over regional stability amid continuing military exchanges across multiple fronts in the Middle East.
