Moodbidri, Jun 4: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expelled Keshava Panjadi, a member of the BJP Moodbidri Mandal executive committee, from the party and relieved him of all responsibilities with immediate effect for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities during the recent election for the president and vice-president posts of the Kallamundkur Agricultural Service Cooperative Society.
In a statement, BJP Moodbidri Mandal president Dinesh Putran said disciplinary action had been taken against Panjadi following developments during the cooperative society election.

The election to the Kallamundkur Agricultural Service Cooperative Society was held recently, in which 10 BJP-backed candidates and two Congress-backed candidates were elected to the board. BJP leaders had reportedly supported young leader Vidyanand Shetty for the post of president.
However, Keshava Panjadi also entered the race for the president’s post, expressing his interest in contesting the election and filing his nomination. This resulted in a contest between two BJP-backed candidates for the top position.
In the secret ballot election, Panjadi secured the highest number of votes and was elected president of the cooperative society. Sudhakar Poojary was elected unopposed as vice-president.
The outcome reportedly disappointed Vidyanand Shetty and his supporters. Following the election, several supporters expressed their displeasure on social media platforms, claiming that Vidyanand had been treated unfairly and warning that the BJP could face electoral repercussions in the Badagamijaru region.
In the wake of these developments, the BJP leadership has expelled Panjadi from the party and stripped him of all organisational responsibilities with immediate effect, citing anti-party activities.
