Bengaluru, Jun 3: The ruling Congress party on Wednesday announced its list of candidates for the biennial elections to the Karnataka Legislative Council from the Legislative Assembly.
Elections for seven Legislative Council seats are scheduled to be held on June 18. Out of these, the Congress has announced the names of candidates for its share of four seats today.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge finalized the candidates. The approved list includes the names of B K Hariprasad, Tippannappa Kamakanoor, P V Mohan, and Shivanna Malavalli.
While senior leaders B K Hariprasad and Tippannappa Kamakanoor have been retained for another term, new faces have been given an opportunity for the remaining two seats. Interestingly, the party has allocated the tickets for all four seats to candidates belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) communities, a move that has come as a surprise in political circles.
