Mangaluru: Reopening of Holy Family School and inauguration of academic year 2026–27 held

Mangaluru, Jun 1: Holy Family School, Surathkal, commenced the academic Year 2026–27 with a prayerful and inspiring inaugural programme. The event also marked the blessing and inauguration of the newly renovated facilities developed during the summer vacation.

The programme was graced by Fr Austin Peter Peres, joint secretary; Fr Stany Pinto, headmaster; Fr Richard D'Souza; George Ligory D'Souza, vice president of the Surathkal parish pastoral parishad and managing committee member; and Dony Suares, convener of the Education Commission and managing committee member. Parents and parishioners were also present, adding joy and significance to the occassion.

The school community thanked god for the outstanding SSLC results, achieving a 100% pass percentage with 80 distinctions and 36 first classes. The school toppers were felicitated, and newly admitted teachers and students were warmly welcomed into the school family.

The programme also included the blessing of the renovated facilities and the felicitation of the professionals who contributed to the development works. Fr Austin Peter Peres and Fr Stany Pinto addressed the gathering, inspiring students to begin the new academic year with dedication, discipline, and confidence.

The inaugural programme marked a meaningful beginning to the academic year 2026–27 and reaffirmed the school's commitment to excellence in education and holistic development.

The programme was compered by Veena Moras. Jane D'Souza delivered the welcome address, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Manaswi, a student of Class X. The programme concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
