Kuwait City, Jun 1: Kuwait's military said its air defence systems intercepted hostile missile and drone attacks early on Monday, with air raid sirens sounding across the Gulf nation amid escalating tensions linked to the ongoing Iran conflict.
In a statement, the Kuwaiti Army said the explosions heard in parts of the country were the result of air defence systems engaging incoming threats. Authorities did not immediately identify the source of the attacks or report any casualties or damage.
The incident came as the United States confirmed it had carried out strikes on Iranian radar and drone-control facilities over the weekend, describing the action as a response to what it termed aggressive Iranian activities, including the reported downing of a US military drone over international waters.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard said it had launched a retaliatory strike against a base used by US forces, though it did not specify the location. International media reports indicated the attack may be linked to the missile and drone threats intercepted by Kuwait.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump sought to reassure the public amid growing concerns over the conflict, stating that the situation would eventually be resolved and that it would “all work out well in the end.” He also indicated that negotiations with Iran were continuing despite recent military exchanges.
The latest developments have raised fresh concerns over regional security and the stability of energy supplies, particularly as tensions around the Strait of Hormuz continue to affect global markets. Diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation remain underway.
