Mangaluru, Jun 1: An orientation programme on ‘Creating Joyful and Inclusive Classrooms’ was conducted at Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School, Kotekar on May 29.

The session was led by Dakshayini R, academic consultant, MBD Alchemie Pvt Ltd.

The programme provided valuable insights into fostering a positive, inclusive, and learner-centred classroom environment.

The resource person emphasized the importance of ensuring emotional safety, academic growth, and a sense of belongingness among students to promote deep and meaningful learning.

The session highlighted the significance of understanding diverse learning styles through the VAK (Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic) approach, recognizing individual abilities and needs, and being sensitive to students’ cultural backgrounds and socio-economic contexts.

Teachers were encouraged to strengthen teacher–student relationships and cultivate a positive classroom culture that supports every learner.

Special emphasis was placed on celebrating students’ efforts and progress rather than focusing solely on outcomes and results.

The programme also stressed the integration of play-based and experiential learning strategies to make learning more engaging and effective. Practical suggestions were shared on supporting learners with different needs and creating an environment where every child feels valued and included.
