Karnataka Sangha Qatar organises mega blood donation camp in Doha

Doha, May 29: Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ), under the aegis of the Indian Cultural Centre and the Embassy of India, Doha, successfully organized a Mega Blood Donation Camp on Friday, May 22nd, at the Qatar National Blood Donation Center in association with Hamad Medical Corporation under the theme 'Everyone Could Be a Hero'.

The event was graced by chief guests Eish Singhal, first secretary, Embassy of India, Doha, and Sadika Al Mahmoudi, medical manager & head of donor recruitment, HMC, along with several community leaders and dignitaries. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by KSQ general secretary, Sujith Kumar.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guests Eish Singhal emphasized the importance of regular blood donation and community participation in saving lives. KSQ president Subramanya Hebbagelu highlighted the organization’s continued commitment towards humanitarian service and community welfare initiatives. Sadika Al Mahmoudi stressed the growing need for maintaining adequate blood reserves in Qatar’s hospitals and appreciated the Indian expatriate community for their continued support towards HMC’s initiatives.

The event also featured an informative address by Dr Amit Varma, who spoke about the medical significance and health benefits of blood donation, encouraging the community to actively participate in such noble initiatives.

A special recognition ceremony was held to honor veteran donors Dr Sanjay Kudari, Shreedhar Nayak, and Mohammad Sohail for their remarkable contribution of donating blood more than 25 times.

The camp witnessed an overwhelming response from the Indian expatriate community, with a significant number of donors contributing towards strengthening HMC’s life-saving blood reserves.

During the event, KSQ also officially unveiled the poster of Sambhrama 2026, a grand musical evening featuring renowned singer Rajesh Krishnan and troupe, scheduled for June 12 at DPS MIS Auditorium, Doha.

The programme was hosted by Shubha, while the formal proceedings concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by KSQ vice president Anil Bhasagi.

KSQ extends sincere gratitude to all volunteers, supporters, media partners, and donors for making the initiative a grand success.
