Mangaluru, May 26: The reopening of St Agnes CBSE School for the academic year 2026–27 for the staff commenced on a joyful and prayerful note with a warm welcome to the new principal, Sr Jennifer Moras AC, on May 22.
Sr Meena Fernandes AC, vice principal, Sr Letitia AC, KG coordinator, Sr Lavi Shanthi AC, the coordinators, teaching staff and support staff extended a heartfelt welcome to the new principal with a thunderous round of applause and affectionate greetings. The gathering radiated an atmosphere of gratitude, unity, and renewed enthusiasm as the institution stepped into a new chapter under inspired leadership.





















The prayer service was reverently led by Sr Meena Fernandes AC and Vindhya. The programme began with an invocation seeking God’s blessings upon the institution, its staff, and the new leadership. Heartfelt gratitude was expressed for the dedicated and selfless service of Sr Sarika AC, the former principal, whose tireless commitment and inspiring leadership have left a lasting impact on the entire school community. The scripture reading reminded everyone to be the ‘light of the world’ through lives rooted in goodness, service, and faith. A meaningful candle-lighting ceremony added solemnity to the occasion as Sr Jennifer Moras AC lit the lamps symbolising teachers, parents, students, and the entire school community, praying that the institution may continue to shine with wisdom, peace, and compassion.
An eloquent and inspiring welcome speech delivered by Sr Lavi Shanthi AC beautifully highlighted the remarkable academic achievements, rich administrative experience, and visionary leadership of Sr Jennifer Moras AC. She completed her degree in Christianity from St Philomena’s College, Mysuru, pursued her DEd and BEd from St Ann’s College, and later obtained her MA in English and history from Mysore University. Her impressive academic background reflects her deep commitment to the noble mission of education and service.
The speech further shed light on her distinguished journey in the field of education and administration. Sr Jennifer Moras AC served as the principal of St Joseph College, Bidar, principal of Carmel School, Kotekar (CBSE), and principal of Ladyhill ICSE School. She also served as the in-charge of the kindergarten section at Stella Maris, Kotekar. Her vast experience in successfully leading institutions from KG to PG stands as a testimony to her exceptional leadership abilities, dedication, and farsighted vision.
The gathering proudly acknowledged her significant contributions to the field of education. She was instrumental in introducing and establishing the CBSE stream at Carmel School, Kotekar, and also played a vital role in initiating the ICSE stream at Ladyhill School. Her courage to embrace new challenges, her determination to work tirelessly for institutional growth, and her wholehearted commitment to quality education were greatly appreciated by the staff members.
The programme became even more special as the staff joyfully recalled that Sr Jennifer Moras had once served as a teacher in the same institution in the year 2008. Her return to the school as principal was therefore considered a proud, emotional, and blessed moment for the entire school family.
As tokens of love and esteem, Sr Letitia presented Sr Jennifer Moras with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, while Sr Meena Fernandes welcomed her with a potted plant symbolising growth, hope, and prosperity. Tr Neesha presented a Crystal globe representing wisdom, knowledge, unity, and the far-reaching influence of education. The staff members also came forward to greet and welcome the new principal with heartfelt wishes and blessings.
Adding warmth to the occasion, Sr Jennifer Moras warmly welcomed the new staff member, Tr Jane Mendonca, by presenting her with a candle symbolising guidance, hope, and enlightenment. The thoughtful gesture beautifully reflected the institution’s spirit of encouragement, unity, and fellowship.
In her address to the staff, Sr Jennifer Moras expressed her sincere gratitude for the affectionate welcome and thoughtful gestures extended to her. She warmly greeted the teaching and non-teaching staff and encouraged everyone to work together with dedication, unity, cooperation, and commitment for the continued progress and excellence of the institution.
