Yamunanagar, May 25: Kashish Kalra, daughter of fire department officer Gulshan Kalra, has brought laurels to her hometown by securing the 111th rank in the UPSC civil services examination 2025. Achieving this milestone in her second attempt without formal coaching, she has become an inspiration for civil services aspirants across the country.

A consistently bright student, Kashish completed her class 10 education from a private school in Yamunanagar before moving to Delhi for her class 12 studies. She subsequently graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.

Upon returning to her hometown on Sunday, she was accorded a grand welcome. Family members, friends, and various social organizations greeted her with floral garlands and traditional drum beats, celebrating her success like a festival.

While interacting with students at a local centre, Kashish humbly attributed her success to consistent effort and strict adherence to the syllabus. She noted that she did not rely on any "extra special" study materials, but simply followed the guidance of her teachers.

Speaking on her vision for the future, she emphasized that the core purpose of the civil services is public welfare. "My dream is to contribute to society through my work, especially in areas like education, healthcare, public safety, and women's empowerment," she stated. Stressing the necessity of sensitivity in administration, she expressed her determination to bring about positive change.

Furthermore, she urged today’s youth to focus on continuous skill development, noting that acquiring practical skills is vital not just for securing employment, but for making a tangible difference in people's lives.
