Hyderabad, May 23: CV Anand has directed police officials in Telangana to extensively adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies to strengthen crime investigation, law and order management, and overall policing efficiency across the state.
During a review meeting held on Saturday, the Director General of Police announced the formation of a dedicated Tech Team in the DGP’s Office to oversee technology-driven initiatives.
Anand stressed the need to bring all major police technology platforms, including the Telangana Police official website, Hawk Eye, CCTNS and HRMS, under a unified framework for streamlined functioning.

The DGP said a permanent technical team would ensure continuity of projects irrespective of transfers or changes in officers. He also proposed including enthusiastic young personnel willing to voluntarily contribute and learn emerging AI systems.
During the meeting, Anand instructed officers to develop a centralised high-speed platform capable of quickly integrating additional data layers. He also suggested the creation of a dedicated AI Task Force in the DGP’s Office, similar to “Marvel”, to monitor all AI-related initiatives undertaken by the department.
The DGP further proposed the development of a unified mobile platform called “TS-COPS” by integrating existing systems such as CCTNS and HRMS, enabling police personnel to access multiple applications through a single interface.
He directed officers to prepare a joint action plan for implementing AI-based platforms such as CCTNS 2.0 and for creating data-driven dashboards.
Anand also instructed that all offices under the DGP establishment be integrated with the e-Office system to ensure seamless monitoring and tracking of file movements.
Emphasising practical implementation, the DGP said technology initiatives should produce visible improvements in field-level policing.
To speed up execution, a special five-member IPS officers’ Core Team has been constituted with a target to complete key AI-based platforms within six months.
N Shweta has been assigned responsibilities related to CCTNS 2.0 development, HRMS monitoring and coordination with CID.
R Bhaskaran will oversee integration of AI technology into the CCTNS project, while Chennuri Rupesh will supervise social media, video analytics and AI-based drone initiatives.
K Apoorva Rao has been entrusted with data intelligence, training programmes and system design, while IPS officer Avinash Mohanty will monitor traffic and road safety modules.
