Mangaluru: NUINS celebrates International Nurses Day

Mangaluru, May 16: The SNA Council of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences  (NUINS) celebrated the International Nurses Day on May 12 at KSHEMA Auditorium, Deralakatte with great enthusiasm and pride under the guidance of Sheryl Fernandes, SNA Advisor, NUINS.

The programme was graced by chief guest Corinne Rasquinha, founder, White Doves, who was felicitated with a standing ovation for her remarkable service and selfless contribution towards the needy. In her inspiring address, she highlighted the true essence of nursing which includes compassion, care, and humanity.

The event was presided over by Dr Prof Fatima D'Silva, principal, NUINS, who addressed the gathering and emphasized the vital role of nurses and the responsibility of nursing students in building a strong healthcare system.

The prizes for the Intercollegiate Reel Competition conducted as part of the International Nurses Day celebrations were announced by the SNA advisor, Sheryl Fernandes. The first prize was bagged by St Ignatius Institute of Health Sciences, Honnavar, and the second prize was bagged by K Pandyaraj Ballal College of Nursing, Mangaluru.

The programme concluded with engaging moments and a fellowship lunch, making the day joyful, memorable, and meaningful for all.

Cleeta Anline Pinto, principal, School of Nursing, and Pearl Rhea D’Souza, SNA vice president, were present on the dais for the programme.
