Iran executes two accused of spying for Israel

Tehran, May 2: Iran on Saturday executed two men accused of spying for Israel, including one alleged to have gathered intelligence near a key nuclear facility, according to Iranian media reports.

Quoting the judiciary, reports said Yaghoub Karimpour and Nasser Bakarzadeh were hanged after being found guilty of intelligence cooperation with Israel and its spy agency, Mossad.

Karimpour was accused of passing sensitive information to a Mossad officer, while Bakarzadeh allegedly collected details on government and religious figures as well as key locations, including areas around the Natanz nuclear facility.

The reported executions come amid heightened tensions between Iran and Israel, with ongoing geopolitical strain in the region.
