Abu Dhabi, Mar 16: One person was killed after a missile struck a civilian vehicle in the Al Bahyah area of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates on Monday, authorities said.

According to the Abu Dhabi Media Office, the missile hit a car on the outskirts of the capital, resulting in the death of a Palestinian national. Emergency services responded to the incident soon after it was reported.

Officials urged residents to rely only on information from official sources and avoid spreading rumours about the incident.

The strike comes amid escalating tensions in the region linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States and Israel, with Gulf countries facing repeated missile and drone threats in recent weeks.

Authorities said investigations are underway into the incident while air defence systems across the UAE remain on high alert following a series of missile and drone attacks targeting the region.
