Bengaluru, March 15: In anticipation of increased passenger movement during Ugadi and Ramadan, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced the operation of 2,000 special buses.
The special services have been launched to handle the surge in festive travel across Karnataka and neighbouring states, ensuring smooth travel for commuters and pilgrims.
The services will run from March 18 to 20 from Bengaluru to various destinations, with return journeys to the city scheduled on March 22.

Buses will operate from Kempegowda Bus Station and Mysuru Road Bus Station, as well as taluk and district bus stations, with additional trips arranged depending on passenger demand.
Passengers can book e-tickets online at the official KSRTC website (www.ksrtc.karnataka.gov.in) or reserve seats in advance via computerised booking counters at KSRTC depots across Karnataka and interstate locations.
Highlighting the festive concessions, KSRTC chief traffic managers said: “Groups of four or more passengers booking in advance will receive a 5% discount, while booking both onward and return tickets together entitles passengers to a 10% discount on the return journey.”
The special buses will cover popular destinations including Dharmasthala, Kukke Subrahmanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Sringeri, Horanadu, Davanagere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppal, Yadgir, Bidar, Mysuru, Hunsur, Periyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalnagar, Madikeri, and interstate routes to Tirupati, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, among others.
The initiative is part of KSRTC’s effort to provide safe, convenient, and affordable travel during the festive season, while reducing congestion on busy routes and facilitating smooth operations across Karnataka and neighbouring states.
