Kuwait City, Mar 8: A drone attack early Sunday targeted two fuel tanks belonging to the Kuwait Aviation Fueling Company (KAFCO) inside Kuwait International Airport, triggering a large fire but causing no casualties, authorities confirmed.
The General Authority of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that initial reports indicated only material damage, with no injuries reported among airport personnel or workers.

DGCA spokesperson Abdullah Al-Rajhi said firefighting teams and emergency units quickly responded to the incident and implemented established emergency procedures to contain the blaze.
He added that all relevant agencies remain at the site to manage the situation and ensure that airport operations remain secure.
Authorities also confirmed that DGCA President Sheikh Hamoud Mubarak Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah is present at the scene overseeing coordination among emergency and security teams operating at the airport.
Officials have not yet disclosed further details about the source of the drone or the extent of the damage caused to the KAFCO facilities. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
