Bantwal, Mar 5: National Science Day was celebrated at the Government Higher Primary School, Narikombu, in Bantwal taluk on Wednesday, March 4.
IRT Surekha from the Bantwal Cluster Resource Centre inaugurated the programme. Addressing the students, she said that celebrating Science Day helps develop interest in science at the primary level, encourages practical thinking, eradicates superstitions, and fosters scientific temperament and problem-solving skills among children. She emphasized that such initiatives promote logical thinking in students from an early stage.


The programme was presided over by Ravi Anchan, president of the School Development Committee.
On the occasion, students of Sahyadri Engineering College, Ranjith and Krathik, demonstrated a drone flight designed and built by them. The demonstration inspired students to develop an interest in the field of science from the primary level.
Atal Tinkering Lab coordinator Rohini from Sri Rama Vidyakendra, Kalladka, School Mothers’ Committee president Ushalakshi, School Development Committee members Kamalaksha, Damodar, Naveen, Keshav, Divya and Priya, Roshan, teacher of Carmel School, BC Road, were present on the dais.
Jayaram, president of the Bantwal Primary School Teachers’ Association, media personnel Suraj, Ganesh Bolaar and Girish Bantwal, along with parents of students, visited and encouraged the children.
Acting headmistress Sujatha welcomed the gathering, physical education teacher Shobha delivered the vote of thanks, and teacher Deepika Shetty compered the programme. The school teachers extended their cooperation.
