Puttur, Mar 4: A jet aircraft was seen flying multiple times at an extremely low altitude over the town on Tuesday, March 3, causing brief panic among residents. It was later confirmed that the flights were part of a geological survey, bringing relief to the public.
The aircraft was spotted flying very close to ground level above the fields in the vicinity of the Mahalingeshwara Temple in Puttur. Residents witnessed the jet making repeated rounds over different parts of the town.


The aircraft reportedly completed around 10 to 15 rounds. Initially, there was no information available regarding who operated the aircraft or the purpose of the flights. The sudden low-altitude flying caused anxiety among the public.
It was later clarified that the aircraft was conducting a survey related to the study of the earth’s structure, following which residents heaved a sigh of relief.
