Udupi: Right wing leader attacked by two miscreants in Malpe; five arrested

Udupi, March 3: A right wing outfit leader, Manju Kola, was attacked by two unidentified miscreants on Tuesday night in Malpe.

Manju Kola, a prominent leader of Hindu Yuva Sene and other right wing organisations, is the husband of Lakshmi Manju Kola, former vice-president of Udupi CMC.

He was mediating a compromise in a certain issue involving a couple. During the discussion, two persons involved in the meeting allegedly attacked Manju Kola with a knife.

He has been admitted to a private hospital in Udupi and is said to be out of danger.

Responding to the incident, Udupi district superintendent of police Hariram Shankar said, “Five accused have been arrested in the case. The incident happened over a personal matter. Victim is also out of danger. No communal angle or whatsoever is involved”.
