Udupi: Body of missing man found in Indrani river

Udupi, Mar 3: The decomposed body of a man who had been missing from his home was discovered in the Indrani river on Tuesday. The body was found behind the Shankaranarayana Temple at Kodavoor, falling under the Malpe police station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Suresh Poojary (54), a resident of Subrahmanya Nagar, Ambagilu. He had been reported missing from his residence a few days ago, and a missing person complaint had been registered at the Udupi Town police station.

Upon receiving information, Malpe police personnel visited the spot. Assistant sub-inspector Harish K conducted the spot inspection proceedings at the scene.

Social worker Nithyanand Volakad retrieved the body from the river and shifted it to the mortuary at the district hospital for a post-mortem examination. Shabeer and Mustaq of Malpe assisted in the operation.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
