Bantwal: Vehicle seized in Vittal over alleged illegal cattle transport; case registered

Bantwal, Feb 28: In a case of alleged illegal cattle transportation, the police traced and seized a vehicle at Kolnadu village.

Vittal SI Ramakrishna and his staff detected the vehicle at Karai in Kolnadu village of Bantwal taluk and questioned the driver Naveen and another person Chetan, both residents of Mandya.

The vehicle was found parked by the roadside, and two cows were seen being transported in it in a cruel manner.

 

On questioning the occupants of the vehicle, identified as driver Naveen and another person Chetan from Mandya, it was revealed that the cattle had been loaded at Channarayapatna by a person named Shankar and sent to Shafi of Salethur with the intention of slaughtering the animals and selling the meat.

The police also informed that the cattle were being transported using documents obtained in the name of other persons.
