Sullia, Feb 24: In a shocking incident, a tree fell on a moving car, completely damaging the vehicle, while the occupants miraculously escaped unhurt. The incident occurred on Monday at Bengamale on the Sullia–Bellare road.
Utsav Chakravarti, bank manager of Sullia, and another person were travelling towards Panja in a rented Swift Dzire car belonging to Ummar of Sullia for loan recovery work. While they were returning from Bellare to Sullia, a huge roadside tree fell on the moving car at Bengamale. As a result, the car was crushed.
The passengers in the car escaped with minor injuries. Due to the fallen tree, traffic was disrupted for about half an hour. Local residents later cleared the tree from the road and restored vehicular movement.
