Mangaluru: Logo of Senior National Classic Powerlifting Championship 2026 unveiled

Mangaluru, Feb 17: The official logo of the Senior National Classic Powerlifting Championship 2026 was formally unveiled on February 17 at the Praja Soudha Complex. Darshan H V, deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, performed the unveiling, marking the official countdown to one of India’s most prestigious national-level strength sports events.

The championship is jointly organised by the Karnataka Powerlifting Association (KPA) and Kasharp Fitness. The event is scheduled to be held from March 24 to 28 at the T V Raman Pai Convention Centre, Mangaluru.

The ceremony was graced by several distinguished personalities from the sports and corporate sectors, including Gaurav Khandpur, director of UTC Petrochemicals and member of Kasharp Fitness; Sathish Kumar Kudroli, president of Powerlifting India and meet director; Anand Prabhu, director of Kasharp Fitness; Geetha Shetty, trustee of Seva Ashrama NGO Trust and organising committee member; and Pradeep Kumar, general manager of Kasharp Fitness and meet director.

Recognised as a premier national powerlifting event, the championship will bring together elite athletes, referees, and officials from all states and union territories. The event aims to showcase strength, discipline, and sporting excellence at the highest level.

The organisers have outlined the following key objectives:

  • Promoting powerlifting as a mainstream competitive sport in India

  • Providing a national platform for senior athletes

  • Inspiring youth participation in strength sports

  • Strengthening Karnataka’s position as a hub for national sporting events

  • Creating branding and marketing opportunities for sponsors

With an expected participation of over 600 athletes from across India, along with 80 technical officials, 150 team officials, and more than 3,000 spectators over five days, the championship is set to be a grand national sporting spectacle.

The organising committee has invited organisations to partner in making the championship a success, offering significant brand visibility to sponsors. The Karnataka Powerlifting Association, the official state body affiliated with national and international federations, continues to uphold professional standards in competition. Kasharp Fitness, a reputed strength and fitness brand, remains active in promoting athlete development across Karnataka.

With strong organisational backing and enthusiastic participation anticipated from across the country, the Senior National Classic Powerlifting Championship 2026 is poised to elevate Indian powerlifting to greater heights.
