Mangaluru: Karnataka Bank’s Founders’ Day lecture on Feb 18

Mangaluru, Feb 16: Karnataka Bank, has scheduled its 102nd Founders’ Day celebration on Wednesday, February 18 at 4.00 pm at the Bank’s Head Office, Karnataka State. Debasish Panda, IAS (Retd) has consented to deliver the Founders’ Day lecture. Debasish Panda, a 1987 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, is a visionary leader and transformative policy reformer. Over his distinguished career spanning more than three decades, he has made pioneering contributions across finance, insurance, public health, agriculture, law enforcement, and urban development.

Previously, in the government of Uttar Pradesh, he introduced India's largest emergency response system (Dial 112) and modernized urban governance in Greater Noida. His leadership is marked by technology-led governance, institutional building, and unwavering public service commitment. As Chairman of IRDAI (2022-2025), he spearheaded the vision of 'Insurance for All by 2047', redefined regulatory frameworks, and prioritized customer-centric governance.

As secretary, department of financial services (2020-2022), he led critical banking consolidations, promoted financial inclusion, and managed COVID-19 financial responses. He also held the position of director on the Boards of Reserve Bank of India, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda and Life Insurance Corporation of India. Panda's career stands as a testament to visionary governance, marked by innovation, inclusivity, and national development. His leadership across sectors has empowered millions and strengthened India's administrative and financial ecosystems.” said Raghavendra S Bhat, MD & CEO of the bank.

Speaking more about the event, Shri Raghavendra S Bhat, further said, “The Founders’ Day Lecture will be followed by an all-women classical music ensemble concert by renowned artists namely Vidushi Manasi Prasad (Vocal), Vidushi Sukanya Ramgopal (Ghatam Tarang), Vidushi C V Shruthi (violin), Vidushi Y G Srilatha Nikshith (Veena), Vidushi Ranjani Siddhanti Venkatesh (Mridangam) and Vidushi Bhagyalakshmi Krishna (Morsing). The event will be streamed live in Bank’s official social media handles on Youtube and Facebook. Popular TV Channels of the coastal Region, ‘Namma Kudla’ and ‘Namma TV’ will telecast the event live. The Founders’ Day celebrations will also be broadcast live through ‘All India Radio’ Mangaluru. The programme will be presided by P Pradeep Kumar, Chairman of the Bank”.
