Mangaluru, Jan 27: A youth who came to the city in search of employment climbed a 50-foot-high tree in a state of distress after failing to find work, in an incident reported from Karangalpady in the city on Monday.
The youth has been identified as Bheemappa Talwar (24), a resident of Hunagund in Bagalkote district. He had come to Mangaluru hoping to secure a job, as some people from his native place were reportedly working here. However, when he tried contacting his acquaintances after arriving in the city, he learned that they had already returned to their hometown.

Disappointed and frustrated over the lack of employment, Bheemappa climbed a tree and sat at the top. Local residents made several attempts to persuade him to come down, but were unsuccessful. Eventually, Kadri police arrived at the spot, counselled the youth, safely brought him down and later sent him back to Bagalkote.
